Biel, the cursed song

The best elven swordsinger, whose songs were envied by the goddess herself - and whose soul was stolen by a demon

Source Based on the book "Critique of Biel's Songs" (help 7095) and saga #072 "Saga of the Sword Muse"

There is a gift so perfect that it becomes a curse, and there is a song that even the goddess herself envied. Both were given to the same elf. Her name was Biel, and she was the finest swordsinger the elven race had ever produced.

The voice that sang to the gods

Biel was not just a singer - she was the Queen's favorite singer, and once even sang for CihaTo understand what her voice was, you have to remember what a song was in those days.

"Biel is the finest swordsinger the elven race ever produced. She was the Queen's favorite singer and once even sang for Ciha!"

"Criticism of Biel songs"

In the Age of Elves, song was not a pastime. Song was used to praise the gods, and therefore power resided in it. Eva — the goddess of water, love, and music itself. Only later, with the dawn of the human era, did songs degenerate into mere entertainment. But Biel's songs were of that ancient kind—those that wielded true power over the world. It's said that a swordsman who sang with a blade in his hand, completely alone, truly understands what a listener is—and Biel understood that like no one else.

Three songs that rule hearts

Because her songs didn't just touch you, they commandedTradition names three types of magic that lived in her voice.

"Legend has it that Biel's songs contained a magic that could command the listener. The three types of magic in her songs were seduction, sweet whispers, and temptation."

"Criticism of Biel songs"

Song of Temptation penetrated the listener's body with notes and filled it with heaviness. Song of Whispers took away the very desire to raise a weapon. Song of Temptation left defenseless. With just one voice, without a single blow, Biel could immobilize, disarm, and strip anyone who heard her. In her time, no one could resist that voice—she held the listener in the palm of her hand, like a note.

Jealousy of the Goddess

And herein lies the bitter heart of the legend. The song belonged to Eva—and the mortal elf's mastery became such that the goddess of music envied her own daughter.

"She captivated listeners in her time. They say Eva was consumed by jealousy and put a flaw in every one of her songs."

"Criticism of Biel songs"

So for every perfection there was a breakdown. Against the Song of Temptation there was found Song of the Wind, which removes the induced heaviness; against the Whisper - Song of Water; against Temptation - Song of VengeanceThe goddess, jealous, left a loophole—an antidote—in each of Biel's songs. But look closely: even in jealousy itself, a shadow of mercy remained. Eva didn't take away Biel's voice—she merely ensured that mortals had a way to resist. The flaw was both punishment and mercy.

The demon who seduced the seducer

But it wasn't the goddess who destroyed Biel. She, whose songs had seduced entire halls, was seduced in her turn—and he did it. daemon.

"Here comes the demon who tempted Biel!"

from Saga of the Sword Muse (#072)

Thus the greatest singer of the elves became cursed singerThe voice that sang for the Queen and Ciha turned against the light; the gift the goddess envied fell into the hands of darkness. The singer who commanded hearts succumbed to another's temptation—and lost her way.

Eva's Mercy

And yet, Biel's story is not about a fall, but about a return. For the same Eva who was once jealous did not abandon her errant daughter. When a new hero embarks on the swordsinger's path, he is guided not by anger, but by the compassion of the goddess:

"So the legends were true! Eva's merciful heart must have called you to help one who had lost her way..."

from "Saga of the Sword Muse"

У Tablets of Vision, where the hero speaks with the spirit of the founder of his class, it is she who awaits him—Biel, the cursed singer. And he who follows in her footsteps comes not to defeat her, but sing in tune with her: to return the lost one with harmony to where the demon took her. Biel's legacy is not a curse, but a song that must be sung correctly.

Such is the fate of one whose gift was too great for a mortal: she was envied by a goddess, abducted by a demon, and only the mercy of that same goddess allowed her a way back. Biel reminds us that the most beautiful voice is the easiest to knock out of tune—and that even a cursed song can be sung anew if someone is found who will sing it with love.
