Anakim and Lilith: Holy Flame and Mother of the Abyss
The war between light and darkness in Aden is not an allegory, but two beings that eternally fight fiercely beneath the world: the holy flame Anakim and the Mother of the Abyss Lilith, locked by the seal of the great emperor.
Source According to the in-game dialogues of the Seven Seals: Keeper of the Seal and Keeper of the Dimension (necropolises 31494–31501), the gates of the Forbidden Sanctuary, instructions on the Nephilim and Lilim.
The war between light and darkness that has raged in Aden since the dawn of time seems abstract—a dispute between distant gods above the clouds. But it has a very tangible heart. Deep underground, in a sealed sanctuary, two beings are locked in a battle that never ends. One is called anakim, holy flame. The other one - Lilith, Mother of the Abyss. And as long as the world stands, they will not break their embrace.
Holy Flame
One pole of this war is light. Anakim embodies it, and her entire appearance is one of fire and radiance.
"You may encounter Anakim, holding the sacred torch. She is the sworn enemy who sleeps in the Necropolis of the Disciples."
Keeper of the Seal
Anakim is called "the holy flame" and "the holder of the sacred torch" - a winged warrior who carries the fire of heaven. She is from the same army that seraphim of light: pure, formidable, unyielding. Her very name, from the ancient scrolls, signifies the giants who stood closest to the gods. She sleeps—but her sleep is light, and her torch never goes out.
Mother of the Abyss
The other pole is darkness. And it has a name that evokes the cold of the deepest abyss: Lilith, Mother of the Abyss.
"The door of the Forbidden Sanctuary opens—and here before us stands Lilith, Mother of the Abyss. She is our greatest enemy, who sleeps in the Necropolis of the Saints."
Keeper of the Seal
Lilith is not just a demon, but the mother of an entire race of darkness: from her came the Lilim, as from the heavens came the army of light. And one of the most terrible secrets of Aden is associated with her name. For this she opened up the abyss that seduced ShilenBehind the goddess of death's fall into eternal darkness was not only Shilen's own pride—it was also Lilith, who lured her into the abyss. The Mother of the Abyss called—and even the goddess could not resist.
Eternal struggle
Light and darkness in Aden don't argue verbally or engage in formal duels. Anakim and Lilith are entwined in a literal, physical struggle that lasts for centuries without a victor.
"The Emperor's Seal is placed here. From within, the sounds of Anakim and Lilith fighting fiercely can be heard."
at the gates of the Forbidden Sanctuary
Listen: behind the seal is not the silence of sleeping gods, but the roar of an endless battleFlame and abyss cling to each other, tearing each other apart for all eternity—neither can prevail, neither can retreat. This is the truth about the war between light and darkness: it never ends in victory for either. It can only be contained—and even then, only briefly.
Emperor's Seal
And a mortal locked them in. The greatest of men— Shunaiman, the founder of the empire Elmoreden, — managed to do what the gods could not: remove this war from the eyes of the world.
"These catacombs and necropolises were originally sealed in another dimension by the Seal of Shunaiman—along with the magic that concealed the abyss Lilith opened to seduce Shilen. When the seal was broken, these structures emerged into our world!"
Guardian of Dimension
The Seal of Shunaiman sealed entire necropolises into a separate dimension—and with them, the very secret of how Lilith had drawn Shilen into darkness. For millennia, the war between light and darkness slumbered behind this seal, hidden from Aden. But every seal is eventually broken. When this one collapsed—at the hour Seven Seals— the unleashed force tore the very fabric of the universe: a crack, a "dimensional rift," opened between purgatory and our world. The locked-in war spilled out.
Warriors of the gods or monsters?
And here's what's most remarkable. Creatures from the armies of Anakim and Lilith—Nephilim, Lilim, Giants—now roam the necropolises; but in Aden they can't agree on what they are.
"Don't dare harm the Nephilim, the Lilim, the Giants, and the Lilith. They are the warriors of the gods, the holiest of warriors, and you will not raise a sword against them."
from the priest's instructions
One priest will prostrate himself and call them the holiest warriors of the gods, whom it is a sin to touch with a blade. Another will send a hunter to slay those same Nephilim and Lilim as undead. And both are right in their own way—for this is the war between light and darkness: what is sacred to one pole is an enemy to be exterminated to the other. In the armies of Anakim and Lilith, this very schism of the world takes shape.
The war that mortals awaken
That's the whole point. The war of the gods is not a fairy tale or an allegory; it is Anakim and Lilith, locked in a battle in the darkness beneath the world. Light and darkness in Aden do not reconcile or conquer—they hold each other by the throat for all eternity, and the best even the greatest mortal can do is not resolve this war, but hide it, seal it, delay it.
And the worst thing mortals are capable of is awakening it again. For it wasn't the gods who broke the seal of Shunaiman and released flame and abyss back into the world. It was humans who did it—for power, for the dispute between their two cults, for their own petty claims in the game of the Seven Seals. Anakim and Lilith slept for a thousand years. They were awakened not by the ill will of the heavens, but by that same eternal human audacity: the certainty that we, at least, can touch the locked war of the gods without getting burned.
