Castle Sieges in Lineage 2 – Castle Siege: General Information

Healthy!
Castle sieges in Lineage 2 are the pinnacle of clan PvP, where dozens and hundreds of players fight for control of territory, taxes, and influence on the server. Victory in a siege grants a clan not only status but also real power—management of the region's economy, tax collection, and access to unique opportunities. But to truly experience the scale of these battles and the real competition, it's important to choose a live project from the start, so before you start, it's worth studying the current version. л2 анонс, where sieges actually matter and are not just a formality.
At the start of the game, all castles are under NPC control. However, if a clan manages to capture a fortress from an NPC, it comes under their control, allowing the clan to manage the castle and its resources.
If the clan that owns the castle disbands, the fortress returns to its original state and again becomes the property of the NPC, awaiting a new conqueror.

Castle Sieges in Lineage 2 – Castle Siege: Registration for the Siege
Only clans of level 4 and above (level 5 and above in Gracia Final) can take part in sieges and fight for possession of the castle. They can either attack the castle, trying to capture it, or defend it, preventing other clans from taking control of the fortress.
The clan leader can apply to participate in the siege as either an attacker or a defender. However, there are several important conditions:
- You can only sign up for protection if the castle already belongs to another clan. If the castle is neutral (not under the control of a clan), you cannot sign up for its protection.
- A clan can only participate in the siege of one castle at a time; it is not possible to sign up for several sieges at once.
- The leader of the defending clan must personally confirm the applications of other clans that register to help in the defense.
To register for the siege you need to:
- You can apply to the NPC located on the road to each castle
- You can apply for participation no later than 24 hours before the start of the siege.
- choose a role in the siege, defense or attack.

Castle Sieges in Lineage 2 – Castle Siege: Preparing for the Siege
Since the last siege, we have two weeks to prepare for the next siege. The owner of the castle needs to prepare for defense, in the castle you need to buy and place NPC defenders. You can place them at your discretion, but we would recommend placing as many of them as possible at a height, so they are harder to kill for attackers. You can also strengthen all the gates of the castle for a separate fee.
It is also necessary to prepare the entire clan, warning everyone in advance and holding consultations on defense strategies.
The attackers also need to prepare for the siege in their own way. You need to decide on the castle to be besieged, having calculated your strength and capabilities well. Conduct tactical training, readiness of equipment, determine the role of each clan member in the battle, organize groups with buffers and healers.
Preparation of the composition:
- Tanks (Paladin, DA, TK) - take damage on themselves.
- DD (Damage Dealers) (Archers, Daggers, Mages) - the main striking force.
- Heels (Bishop, EE, SE) - ensure survival.
- Support (WC, PP, BD, SWS) - provide buffs and bonuses.
In preparation for the siege, both sides need to stock up on all the necessary consumables!!! These may be
Greater CP Potion,
CP Potion,
Scroll of Resurrection,
Greater Healing Potion,
Healing Potion,
Potion of Alacrity,
Greater Swift Attack Potion,
Greater Haste Potion,
Mana Drug,
Mana Potion.
Castle Sieges in Lineage 2 – Castle Siege: The Siege Process
After the siege begins, the castle and its surroundings become a battlefield. To attack a hostile character or an opponent who is not your ally, you do not need to hold down the Ctrl key - the attack will occur automatically. Also, the PK counter is disabled in the siege area - it does not work. When a player dies, he loses a small amount of EXP, but no items can fall out of him.

Some features at the beginning of sieges:
- When a siege begins, teleportation to cities belonging to besieged castles becomes unavailable.
- All players who are not registered for the siege, but are near the castle, are automatically moved to the corresponding city.
- The siege lasts 2 hours. If the castle is not captured during this time, it remains with the current owner until the next siege.
- All castle gates close automatically.

Attacking side
The main task of the attackers is to break into the castle, destroying the outer and inner gates, breaking the defense. It is necessary to get into the very heart of the castle, which is the throne room, and climb the stairs to the statue to read a prayer using the skill
Seal of Ruler. The skill's use time is 180 seconds. Yes, it's very long, and at the same time the defending side can interrupt the prayer cast at any time, for example, with Stun or Sleep. Fortunately, this skill has a cooldown of only 5 seconds, and you can start over.
The attacking side must place their flags (camps) on the castle territory, so that when dying, they will not end up in the city, but at the flag installed next to the castle. The clan leader can install flags using the skill
Build Headquarters (requires 300 to use) Gemstone: C grade) or
Build Advanced Headquarters (requires 300 to use) Gemstone: C grade).
What bonuses does the camp provide:
- When dying, players can resurrect near the camp.
- Near the flag, HP and MP regeneration increases.
- The flag can be placed an unlimited number of times.
The camp has a certain amount of HP and can be destroyed, so it must be guarded responsibly. The camp can only be set up by the clan leader and only during a siege, after the siege the camp disappears. The ability to create a camp is only available in the siege area.
How to destroy the outer gate of the castle?
The outer gates of the castle are susceptible to physical attack, they can be destroyed by the efforts of the entire clan, but there are ways to do this faster and more efficiently. For example:
- use siege golem
Summon Siege Golem (available only from Warsmith dwarves). - use destroyers and skills
Zealot,
Frenzy,
anger. - use multiple archers and smash the gates from a long distance.
The inner gates of the castle are destroyed in the same way, but it is worth noting that they are much weaker than the outer gates.
At each stage, in addition to defending players, attackers will be met by huge crowds of NPC castle defenders. They do not possess any superpowers, they are quite weak and stupid, but there are so many of them that they cause significant trouble.
Each castle has a different architecture and throne rooms are located in different places everywhere. The easiest way to do this is by trial and error, walking to the very end of the castle you will come across a throne room, as a rule, it is located a little below the castle.
You can attack the castle in only two places, either through the main gate or through the wall, using a siege golem (Warsmith's skill). As soon as you enter the castle, you must destroy the crystals on the castle's territory, there are usually 4 of them, they are located in the corners of the castle. These crystals directly affect the respawn time of the castle's defenders, both NPCs and players.
In general, the main task of the attackers is to lead the clan leader to the throne to the statue to cast the seal, and protect him during this entire process. Except for the clan leader, no one has the opportunity to read the prayer.
Defense side
Here everything is exactly the opposite. The defending side needs to prepare for the battle on its side. There are several options for defending and holding the castle.
In the first tactic, if the defenders have forces that greatly outnumber the attackers, then you can take offensive actions. You can exit the castle from the back, where the defenders can exit, but the attackers cannot enter. The priority of this tactic is surprise, you can quickly demolish the attackers' camps and ruin all their plans with surprise. Destroying the flags will give a huge advantage in defending the castle, since the defenders will gain a lot of time, because the attackers will begin to appear after death not in the vicinity of the castle, but in neighboring cities.
The second tactic is defensive. Defenders need to prepare archers and mages for the siege, they need to be placed at the height and towers of the castle. This will give a big advantage over the attackers, they will be able to prevent the attackers from destroying the main gates of the castle. Warlords and overlords need to be placed below, as well as characters with mass attack skills. Warlords will stun in narrow passages, and overlords will debuff very strongly. The rest just finish off motionless opponents. Generally speaking, not a single mass PvP battle is complete without warlords, in this case they are irreplaceable. Their skill
Thunder Storm (mass stun) is the only one of its kind in the game. Defenders need to protect the crystals in the castle and hold out under the onslaught for only two hours.
Be sure to place buffers near the crystals, these are the points where you will appear in the castle after death. Remember that even having broken both the first and second gates, the enemy has not yet captured the castle, the most interesting begins in the castle itself and the throne room.
You need to prevent the clan leader from casting the seal of the attackers at any cost, you can interrupt the casting of the seal with the help of such skills as Stun, Sleep, Trance, Shock, Paralyze, Silence. Also try to always kill the clan leader in fights, for this you need to know his nickname, it happens that before the siege clans specially change the clan leader. To find out the exact nickname of the clan leader - you can send a spy to the clan or look at the clan statistics on the site, if there are any.

Castle Sieges in Lineage 2 – Castle Siege: Management, Control, Taxes
In the world of Lineage 2, there are castles, the ownership of which gives the clan political and economic influence. The ruling clan can collect taxes from adjacent territories, controlling trade and management of the castle.
By default, the clan leader has full control over all functions of the castle. However, he can delegate control of individual aspects to other clan or alliance members using the rights delegation system.
The castle owner can change the tax rates in the shops in the controlled territory. He can collect all the collected taxes from the NPC chief valet. Aden Castle, as the capital of the kingdom and the whole world of Lineage 2, has an advantage - it collects taxes not only from its lands, but also from other castles, such as Gludio, Oren, Giran and Dion.
When capturing a castle, a clan gains access to the clan hall, the castle warehouse, and can use gatekeepers to quickly move between different parts of the fortress.
There are three types of gatekeepers in the castle:
- Between the inside and outside of the castle.
- Between the outer castle and the castle objects.
- Between the inner castle and the castle objects.
The clan leader can also install and configure the manor system in the castle. For the collected fruits from the manor, the clan will receive valuable items. Everything related to the manor is described in detail in this article.

These mechanics make castle ownership a key strategic element in the game, providing clans not only with status and influence, but also with serious economic advantages.
