Hello, dear friends!
Today we will analyze one of the most complex mechanics – the Manor system in Lineage 2. In this detailed guide, we will analyze its operation from A to Z, explain each number in the settings, prices and rewards.

Manor in Lineage2: what awaits you in this article?

🔹How Manor works in Lineage 2 and why it removes drops from monsters.

🔹Where do fruits and resources come from?

🔹Why, even with the genius of the idea, the developers recognized Manor as one of their main mistakes.

There will be many examples, calculations and detailed explanations - we will analyze everything so that there are no more questions!

For most players, a manor in Lineage 2 is simply a way to obtain resources regardless of class. Unlike dwarves, who receive spoils directly, the process here is different: players plant special seeds in mobs, and then collect fruits from them, which can be exchanged with NPCs for resources.

However, on a server-wide scale, Manor serves a much more complex role. It secretly redistributes vast amounts of adena, taking tens of millions from players and lords while giving them the opportunity to get rich.

⚡So why is Manor really needed on any active server? Let's get into its deep mechanics and impact on the economy!⚡

Every day, top players knock out huge amounts of adena from mobs, turning them into an endless source of income on the server. Veterans who have accumulated millions over the years of playing are ready to invest more and more in game items, buying them from each other. As a result, prices for relevant items gradually reach the highest prices, and new players are left either to farm for a long time or look for ways to withdraw adena through fan pages to compensate for the colossal cash flow in the game.

📌To curb inflation, the Manor system was developed. Interesting fact: The developers foresaw the problem in advance - in the AI files that were disclosed by the masters, early developments of Emanor with comments from the developer were recorded already in 2000.

From the outset it was clear that Manor had to fulfil two key functions:

🔹 Curb inflation and control the flow of adena.
🔹 Motivate players to capture castles by making them economically significant.

Since the C2 Chronicles, each city has NPC Manor Managers, who can be easily found near the wagons. Players can buy seeds from these NPCs, which are then planted into mobs. Manor Managers act as intermediaries between players and lords. It is the lord of the castle who determines which seeds will be available, at what price they can be purchased, and what resources the harvested fruits can be exchanged for.

Note
When ripe, the fruits are sent to the castle dungeon, where the lord can exchange them for valuable goods, such as B-grade equipment, crystals, and sharpenings. But before the seeds can be sold, the lord must set up the Manor.

Some types of seeds are available in five castles at once, while others are only available in two. Why is that?

It's simple: each seed can only be planted in mobs of a certain level, the range of which is indicated in the seed description. If there aren't enough of the required mobs on the castle's territory, the NPC simply won't sell these seeds.

This is why some castles do not have low-level seeds, while others do not have seeds for high-level mobs. When a castle lord orders a specific type of seed, the Manor Manager delivers them at a fixed price set for each type.

Base seed cost and lord profit

Each seed in the Manor has a base price, which can be viewed in the "Basic Information" window. Regardless of the price the lord (the castle owner) sets for players, the NPC supplies seeds at this fixed price. For example, if the NPC sells seeds for 10 adena each, the lord receives them at that price.

The Lord earns money from the difference between the price of buying seeds from NPCs and the price at which players buy them. However, before this, he must pay the full cost of all the ordered seeds.

Whether the seeds are sold depends on the Lord's understanding of the market, as he is the one who sets the final price at which the Manor Manager sells the seeds to players.

Price restrictions

The Lord cannot set the price without control, there are upper and lower limits:

🔹Maximum price cannot exceed x10 of the base value.

  • For example, if Seed: Blue Coda Seed: Blue Coda on a server with x1 rates costs 10 Adena item Adena, then the maximum price = 10 × 10 = 100 Adena item Adena.

🔹minimum price can be set at 60% of the base cost.

  • For Seed: Blue Coda Seed: Blue Coda is 60% of 10 Adena item Adena = 6 Adena.

The lord himself decides what price to set. If he raises the price, he can make more profit, but risks that players simply will not buy the seeds. It all depends on the value of the reward that he and other lords offer for the fruits grown from these seeds.

Binding seeds to resources

Each fruit (harvest from seeds) is tied to two types of resources, regardless of the city where it is received. For example, for Seed: Blue Coda Seed: Blue Coda is:

Animal Skin Item Animal skin

Crafted Leather Item Crafted Leather

The Lord evaluates the market daily and decides which of the two resources will be the priority.

If, for example, the market is oversaturated Animal Skin Item Animal Skin, but the lord sells seeds at the maximum price, players can simply not buy them, because the benefit will be minimal.

Restrictions on the sale of seeds

Unsold seeds do not carry over to the next day. Each castle has a limit on the number of seeds that can be sold, and this limit is different for each castle.

Maximum limits for locks:

🔹 GludioDionOrenInnadrilGiran AdenGoddardRune (increasing limits from left to right).

The Lord can set a minimum price (60% of the base), which will lead to losses in adena, but at the same time, players will definitely buy the seeds, which can be beneficial for the Lord if he is interested in the receipt of fruits.

When can Manor be tuned?

🕛 The Lord can change the prices of seeds and fruits from 20:06 to 5:55 am (server time).
⏰ For example, if the server operates on Moscow time, then changes can be made from 20:06 Sunday to 5:55 am Monday.

How is Adena written off?

👉 At 6:00 am (Monday) the amount for all ordered seeds and fruits is debited from the castle treasury.
👉 If there is not enough adena in the treasury, all Manor settings are reset.
👉 If there is enough money, then at 20:06 on Monday the Manor manager starts accepting fruits and selling seeds.

What happens to unsold seeds?

📌 The seed limit is limited - if all the seeds on display are bought, no more new ones will appear.

📌 If players bought only some of the seeds, the rest will be available for another day.

📌 If the seeds have not been sold by 19:56 on Tuesday, they will disappear.

How to use seeds?

👉 Players can plant seeds at any time, but only on mobs of a certain level, which is indicated on the seeds themselves.

👉 In addition, seeds can only be planted in territories belonging to the castle where these seeds were purchased.

Sowing seeds and harvesting

Seeds purchased from the Manor Manager can only be used on the territories belonging to the castle where they were purchased. For example, if the seeds were purchased in Gludio, they can only be sown on Gludio lands. You can find out which castle a village belongs to by asking any NPC about the lord and taxes.

What is the difference between a manor in Lineage 2 and a spoil?

Manor is similar to the spoil system, but has significant differences:

📌 The player must use the seeds before or during combat by applying them to the monster from the inventory or hotbar.

📌 Unlike spoils, seeds can be used on any mob, but they also extend the time a mob's corpse remains on the ground after death.

📌 Spoilers can use Manor and spoil at the same time, but it is important to follow the correct sequence.

How to harvest properly?

👉 After sowing the seed, you must harvest the crop immediately after killing the monster, otherwise the fruits will disappear and cannot be obtained.

👉 Sowing can be successful or unsuccessful, the result is displayed in the system chat.

👉 The seeds disappear in any case, even if the sowing is unsuccessful.

👉 Harvesting skill cooldown is 10 seconds, but it can be accelerated in various ways (for example, various attack speed buffs reduce the cooldown).

👉 After killing a mob you need to use a scythe harvester Lineage 2 Servers (Harvester) purchased from the Manor Manager to collect fruits that can then be exchanged with NPCs for resources.

Penalties for level differences

👉 If the player's level is significantly higher or lower than the mob's level (i.e. it is displayed in blue or pink), then penalties are imposed on the amount of fruits received.

👉 The greater the difference in levels, the less fruits the player will be able to collect.

👉 Many players claim that the largest number of fruits is given by farming mobs with x2 and higher lives, but in practice this is not always the case.

How does the manor in Lineage 2 redistribute drops?

📌 When using Manor seeds, all mob drops except adena are removed, and the player receives only adena and fruit harvest.

📌 The amount of fruits received depends on the value of the mob. This is an important point, since it is this mechanic that allows Manor to control the server economy.

📌 NCSoft developers calculated how much drop a player could get if he killed mobs in volumes equivalent to the number of seeds sold.
Based on this data, a formula was developed to determine the value of a mob.

How is the Manor fruit count calculated?

The value of a mob is compared to the base value of the fruit it grows from:

📌 If the mob's value is equal to the base value of the fruit, the player will receive 1 fruit.

📌 If the mob's value is 5 times the value of the fruit, the player will receive 5 fruits.

For example:

📌 If the player uses Seed: Blue Coda Seed: Blue Coda on the ratmen in Gludio, he will receive 1 fruit blue coda1 Lineage 2 Servers Blue Coda, the base cost of which is 10 Adena item Adena.

📌 If the player uses Seed: Desert Coba Seed: Desert Coba in Antharas Lair, he will receive 5 fruits Desert Coba Desert Coba, each of which costs 2001 Adena item Adena.

Thus, the NCSoft developers calculated the difference in the value of mobs, where mobs in top locations are much more valuable than low-level mobs.

If a player farmed mobs the usual way and then sold their drops to the store, he would receive 100 times more adena for strong mobs than for weak ones.
But since the player uses Manor, he refuses the standard drop, receiving a harvest from the fruits.

How is the number of fruits rounded?

The value of a mob is not always divided by the value of the fruits without a remainder, which can lead to losses.

For example:

📌The player uses Seed: Blue Coda Seed: Blue Coda on a mob whose conditional value is 131 adena,

📌Basic cost of the fruit Seed: Blue Coda Seed: Blue Coda - 50 Adena item Adena.

It would be logical to get 2,62 fruits, but since fractional values are not possible, the player will only get 2 fruits.

If such mobs are killed 10 times, the player will lose 6 whole fruits, since the system does not round fractional values up.

This way, some of the potential drops remain undistributed to players, which is a key mechanic of the manor that prevents a sharp increase in resources on the server.

The mechanics of fruit production and its impact on the economy

The Manor system in Lineage 2 does not fix the exact number of fruits that the player will receive, but works based on the probability of the drop. For example, if the drop chance is 130%, this means that sometimes the player will be able to get 2 fruits instead of 1. However, in the long run, the average number of fruits collected will be equivalent to the cost of the drop removed from mobs.

Simply put, mob drops do not disappear without a trace, but turn into fruits that can be exchanged for resources.

What you need to know about alternative seeds?

Using alternative seeds has an important difference - the standard mob drop is not removed, but the chance of getting a fruit is significantly reduced:

🔹 The chance of fruit loss in alternative seeds is 3-10 times lower than in regular seeds.

🔹 This is due to the fact that alternative seeds are cheaper than regular fruits.

🔹 Because of this, players spend 3-10 times more adena on seeds to get the same amount of harvest.

🔹 The limits for using alternative seeds in castles are significantly lower, so they are used extremely rarely.

🔹 Alternative seeds are most often used on high-level mobs, as their drop is more valuable than the resources obtained for the fruits.

How do rates (x1 and above) affect the Manor economy?

If the server rates are increased, then the cost of one mob, calculated according to the hidden algorithms of the game, also increases:

🔹 The higher the rates, the more fruits the player receives.

🔹 The amount of resources received for fruits also increases.

🔹 If balance is not taken into account, then excess resources can destroy the server economy.

🔹 Therefore, on high-rated servers, prices for seeds, fruits and resources increase to maintain economic balance.

Selling fruits to the Manor Manager

Players can hand over collected fruits to the Manor Manager, but with some restrictions:

📌 Fruit reception is open every day from 20:06 to 19:56 the next day.
📌 The Manor Manager sells seeds at the same time, so the same player cannot sell fruits and buy seeds at the same time.

However, the number of fruits that can be handed in at each castle is limited.

🔹 The first players to hand in their harvest will receive the maximum reward from the lord who offered the highest price.
🔹 The rest of the players will have to hand over the fruits to other lords for a smaller reward or wait until the next day.

How does the tax work when selling fruits in other castles?

If a player is, for example, in Aden, but delivers fruits to Lord Gludio, he pays a tax of 5% of the value of the fruits.

This tax is set by the lord of the castle to whom the fruits are sold.

What happens to the fruits after delivery?

1️⃣ At 19:56 the fruit reception closes and the Manor manager is temporarily unavailable.
2️⃣ At 20:00, the fruits taken during the day go through the ripening stage:

  • 90% turn into ripe fruits.
  • 10% disappear without a trace.

3️⃣ Ripe fruits are sent to storage, and unused money is returned to the castle treasury.
4️⃣ Manor settings are updated:

  • The new day settings become active.
  • The previous day's data is erased.

How does a lord manage a manor in Lineage 2?

Before players can hand in fruits, the castle lord must set up their acceptance:

🔹 The Lord determines what resources and in what quantities the players will receive for handing in the fruits.
🔹 The higher the cost of a resource, the more adena leaves the game's economy.
🔹 Each castle spends millions of adena daily, buying resources in exchange for fruits.

What does the amount of resources received depend on?

📌 Each resource in the game has a base cost set by the NCSoft developers, similar to the cost of items and equipment.

📌 The more expensive the resource, the more adena the lord must spend to exchange the fruits for it.

📌 Thus, the manor regulates the game's economy, maintaining a balance between the amount of adena entered and withdrawn.

How is the purchase price of fruits and resource output calculated in Manor?

📌The selling price of resources in the store depends on their base cost and is 50% of this price.

📌Base prices for resources can be found in game databases.

📌For example, Animal Skin Item  Animal Skin, one of the key resources that can be obtained for blue coda1 Lineage 2 Servers Blue Coda has a base price of 75 Adena item Adena per piece.

📌If the lord sets a ransom price blue coda1 Lineage 2 Servers Blue Coda at 75 Adena item Adena, then the player, having handed over 1 fruit, will receive 1 Animal Skin Item Animal Skin, since the price of the fruit and the resource are the same.

📌However, if the lord sets the price at 150 Adena item Adena, then the player will receive 2 Animal Skin Item Animal Skin.

📌But if the price is 500 Adena item Adena, according to the formula it should come out to 6,66 Animal Skin Item Animal Skin, which is impossible. Therefore, the game does not calculate the exact amount of resources, but the chance of receiving them. In this case, the probability of dropping will be 660%, which means that sometimes the player will get 6 Animal Skin Item Animal Skin, and sometimes 7.

How is the resource drop chance calculated?

The same logic applies when the fruit is purchased at a price lower than the base cost of the resource.

For example:

  • If there's no Seed: Blue Coda Seed: Blue Coda worth 100 Adena item Adena, huh Crafted Leather Item Crafted Leather – 5700 Adena item Adena, then there is a chance to get Crafted Leather Item Crafted Leather will account for 2,6%.

To get a 100% chance, the player must roll 57 blue coda1 Lineage 2 Servers Blue Coda fruits.

If you hand in fewer fruits, you may not get the resource at all. However, even with 1 fruit, the chance is still not 0, and on a server scale, the total cost of the resources received will be equal to the cost of the fruits handed in.

Thus, the manor system does not create additional resources, but only redistributes the drop from mobs to another type.

How to avoid losses when delivering fruits?

👉Although the chance of resource drops depends on the number of fruits transferred, an individual player may or may not be lucky.

👉To avoid risk, it is recommended to hand over fruits in such quantity that the probability of receiving the resource is 100%.

👉You can calculate the required amount manually or using online manor calculators.

👉Important! For accurate calculations, players and lords should use the calculator built into the server site (if available), as base prices may change depending on the server rate.

What are the limits on fruit purchases that the lord sets?

The Lord can set the purchase price of the fruits, and therefore the amount of resources that players will receive within a strictly defined range.

  • The maximum price a lord can buy a fruit for is x10 of its base price.
  • Minimum price – 60% of the base cost.

This thus sets an upper and lower limit on the reward for turning in the fruits.

How are the prices of fruits and seeds related?

  • The maximum price of seeds is set so that the player pays for them an amount comparable to the average drop of the mobs they are planted on.
  • This allows you to remove from the game not only the mob drops, but also some of the adena that fell from them.

👉If you pay attention, the base prices for fruits are 10 times higher than for seeds.

👉That is, the maximum price of seeds = the base price of fruits.

👉Thus, if the lord sets a base price for the fruits, then all the adena received from the sale of seeds will go to the Manor Manager.

👉But for fruits intended for mobs of level 62 and above, the difference between the price of seeds and fruits is not x10, but only x2-x3. Therefore, castle lords with high-level locations receive part of the adena from the sale of seeds in their pocket.

How can a lord make a profit?

In addition to the usual mechanics, lords have additional ways to earn money:

  • Crafting items in the castle for ripe fruits.
  • The number of fruits required for crafting is calculated so that their total cost matches the cost of the item.

For example, to create Secret Book of Giants Secret Book of Giants (Skill sharpening book), the base price of which is 500 Adena item Adena, the lord needs 10 fruits red coda Lineage 2 Servers Red Coda, each of which costs 50 Adena item Adena.

So, the total number of fruits will always be equal to the cost of the item.

How to avoid manipulations with Manor in Lineage 2?

Some cunning lords can:

  1. Buy fruits from players at the lowest price.
  2. Pay NPCs 60% of their real value for resources.
  3. You will receive the equivalent of a full mob drop, but cheaper.

For example:

  • Players pass 100 fruits.
  • For them you should receive resources worth 50 fruits.
  • But the lord only pays the NPC for 30 fruits, leaving 20 fruits unpaid.

To prevent this, the NPC reduces the amount of fruits.

  • Out of 100 purchased fruits, the NPC gives only 90.
  • Thus, the lord loses some of the profit, and the economy remains balanced.

How does Manor regulate the economy on the server?

If lords pay more adena for fruits, players get more resources:

🔹 When there are a lot of resources on the market, their price falls.

🔹 Lords who bought the fruits at a high price begin to suffer losses.

🔹 In order not to go into the red, they are reducing prices on fruits.

🔹 Players receive fewer resources, their cost increases again.

Thus, the manor in Lineage 2 balances the market automatically.

However, some lords may try to lock the Manor to their clan in order to avoid wasting adena on resources:

  1. Sell seeds to your own players.
  2. Collect fruits within the clan.
  3. Don't pay extra adena for the fruits.

But if other lords set a higher price for the fruits, players will start selling the harvest to them, and the whole scheme will collapse.

History of the Manor in Lineage and its Impact on the Economy

In the first versions of the game, Manor had no price restrictions:

  • In Prelude and C1, players duped huge amounts of adena, leading to massive inflation.
  • By the time of C2, players already had billions of adena in their hands.
  • The lords set astronomical prices for the fruits, flooding the market with resources.
  • Manor created a huge number of items, since the profit from purchasing fruits was still greater than the costs.

In C3, the developers introduced restrictions on the cost of seeds and fruits, but the economy was already destroyed.

In 2014, NCSoft officially acknowledged Manor as one of their biggest mistakes.

However, if you look deeper into the system, it becomes clear that it was well thought out from the start.

Manor took millions of adena from players and lords, but at the same time made them richer, limiting inflation.

Conclusion: The Manor system in Lineage 2 is one of the most complex and underrated mechanics. It was created as a tool to control inflation, redistribute mob drops, and create motivation for capturing castles. However, despite the genius of the idea, its implementation turned out to be difficult for both players and server administrators.

  • Hi, the guide is very clear, point by point, I understand everything perfectly.
But the question we all always ask ourselves is:
Is it worth using the manor system to get rich or not? xD

    • Hi! Thank you
The estate system (manor) is a great opportunity to earn money, especially if you know what, where and when to plant and rent. But without investing time and calculations, you will not get rich quickly
