The spear is the only weapon in the game whose normal strike hits multiple targets at once. The mechanics seem simple, but almost everything about it works differently than you might think: the number of targets isn't determined by the warlord's abilities, the area of effect isn't measured from the target, and monsters don't have any "spear resistance" at all.
Below are the exact numbers: the shape of the zone, where each additional target comes from, how damage is calculated for each of them, and why the monster with the spear gathers half the group around itself.
Zone shape: sector in front of you
- 90° angle — this is 45° to the left and right of the line of sight. Anyone standing to the side or behind you is not affected.
- Radius 80 - and it is measured out from you, not the target. The monsters should converge around the character, not the one you're hitting.
- The difference in height is no more than 200. Those standing further down the slope within this reserve are affected.
- The fan does not work in the peace zone. The test comes before searching the area: in the city, the spear hits exactly one target.
The 80 radius is the spear's range, twice that of any other melee weapon.
| Type of weapon | Strike range | Obraztsov |
|---|---|---|
| Bow | 500 | 144 |
| A spear | 80 | 156 |
| Cutlass | 40 | 206 |
| Sword | 40 | 405 |
| Cudgel | 40 | 334 |
| Claymore | 40 | 64 |
| Two-handed club | 40 | 160 |
| Brass knuckles | 40 | 114 |
| Twin Blades | 40 | 190 |
The range is built into the weapon type, not into a specific model: all copies have the same range, regardless of grade.
Number of targets: base - zero
The main surprise: the base number of additional targets is zeroA spear by itself hits a single target, like a sword. The fan is composed entirely of the weapon's skills and properties.

| Source | Additional goals | Type | Who |
|---|---|---|---|
| +8, from level 9 +13 | passive | Eight classes: warrior, warlord, destroyer, orc raider, artisan, warsmith, bounty hunter, scavenger | |
| +3 | passive | Sewn into the spear itself - in 69 out of 87 samples | |
| +4 | passive | Anger, Guidance, Haste, Health, PvP Damage, Infinity Spear - the remaining 18 copies get their targets from here | |
| +1…+5 by level | active, 2 min | Warlord only | |
| resets | active, 2 min | Warlord only. Sets the target count to zero on top of all bonuses. |
All bonuses are added together in one calculation step, and the reset from Focus Attack is applied later - so it overrides everything.
In total, the maximum is - 22 additional targets, that is 23 per hitThe spear provides either +3 through its ability or +4 through a special property: no specimen is left without a bonus, but no specimen has both at once.
Fell Swoop and Focus Attack are choices, not sets.
Both skills are assigned to the same stacking group, so the second one removes the first. They can't be stacked together—the warlord chooses the mode each time.
| Skill | What gives | What does he pay with? |
|---|---|---|
| +5 goals to the fan at the highest level | Nothing: lasts 2 minutes and also has a 2-minute cooldown - lasts continuously | |
| Critical hit power ×1,10…×1,20 and accuracy +3…+5 — only with a spear in hand | The fan is completely disabled: the blow hits one target |
Focus Attack lasts the same 2 minutes, but has a 4,5 minute cooldown, so you won't be able to keep it up all the time.
Damage to each target is calculated anew.
- First the game iterates additional targets and hits each one.
- For each one, the miss, crit, and shield block are rolled anew - the target can take a critical hit while the adjacent one is shielded.
- The damage multiplier starts at one and decreases after each hit. This means the first additional target gets full damage, weakening starts from the second and accumulates further.
- The main target is hit last and always deals full damage. - weakening does not concern her.
The exact amount of weakening for each subsequent target is determined by the server setting: at a value of "one," there is no weakening at all and the entire fan takes full damage.
And something especially important: The weapon's charge is spent once, but it increases the attack on all targets at onceOne soulshot per 23 targets is what people upgrade the spear for.
The order in which neighbors are examined is not predetermined: the game proceeds by the list of nearby creatures, not by distance. It's impossible to know in advance which target will be the first to receive full damage.
Skills that only work with a spear
There are exactly ten of them, and seven of them are area attacks. Picking up a spear isn't just for the usual strike.
| Skill | What is he doing | For whom? | Who |
|---|---|---|---|
| physical damage | all around | Dreadnought, Fortune Seeker, Maestro, Titan | |
| gain | to myself | Warlord | |
| gain | to myself | Warlord | |
| switchable | to myself | Bounty Hunter, Destroyer, Warlord, Warsmith | |
| physical damage | area at the target | Dreadnought | |
| stun | all around | Warlord | |
| physical damage | all around | Warlord | |
| physical damage | all around | Bounty Hunter, Destroyer, Warlord, Warsmith | |
| physical damage | all around | Artisan, Orc Raider, Scavenger, Warrior | |
| CP damage | everything in front of you | Bounty Hunter, Destroyer, Warlord, Warsmith |
They all check the weapons in their hands: if they change from a spear to a sword, the skill simply won’t be applicable.
Spear-wielding monsters and "steam locomotives"
The same mechanics work against players, but with a different formula. The spear is in the hands of 339 NPCs: 183 regular monsters and minions, 18 raid bosses, the rest are guards and siege mercenaries.
The monster has the following number of additional targets: his level divided by 7,5The raid boss has exactly twelve. That's why one mob with a spear can attack half the group at once.

| Raid boss | Level | Targets per hit |
|---|---|---|
| Andreas Van Halter | 80 | 13 |
| Proceedings | 80 | 13 |
| Cherub Galaxia | 79 | 13 |
| Ocean Flame Ashakiel | 76 | 13 |
| Immortal Savior Mardil | 71 | 13 |
| Last Titan Utenus | 66 | 13 |
| Giant Marpanak | 60 | 13 |
| Lord Ishka | 60 | 13 |
| Eva's Guardian Millenu | 58 | 13 |
| Harit Hero Tamash | 55 | 13 |
| Zaken's Butcher Krantz | 55 | 13 |
| Magus Kenishee | 53 | 13 |
| Shipyard | 51 | 13 |
| Chacram | 45 | 13 |
| Guilotine | 35 | 13 |
| Patriarch Kuroboros | 26 | 13 |
| Pan Dryad | 25 | 13 |
| Tracker Leader Sharuk | 23 | 13 |
A complete list of spear-wielding raid bosses. There are no grand bosses among them: the 27-target raid boss tree is not used in the game.
What is said incorrectly about the spear
"Focus Attack adds targets." On the contrary, it's the only one that takes them away, completely resetting the fan. It's a tradeoff between area of effect and critical strike power and single-target accuracy.
"Fan gives Fell Swoop." Fell Swoop gives +5, and the main +13 comes from the Polearm Mastery passive, which is taught by eight classes, including dwarven crafters.
"The zone is considered around the target." Around you. Moving away from the crowd to "reach further with your spear" is a surefire way to hit a single target.
"All targets take reduced damage." The first secondary target and the primary target itself receive the full debuff. The debuff begins with the second secondary target, and its magnitude depends entirely on server settings.
"This monster has resistance to spears." The "vulnerability to polearms" characteristic is declared in the game, and monsters even have a passive ability that reduces it, but no damage formula reads itThe same goes for all other weapon type vulnerabilities.
Fascia Massage:
- Sector 90° in front, radius 80 from the character, height difference up to 200.
- The spear has a range of 80 versus 40 for the rest of the melee.
- The base number of additional targets is zero.
- Polearm Mastery +8, from ninth level +13; spear skill +3 or special property +4; Fell Swoop +5.
- The ceiling is 23 targets per hit.
- Focus Attack resets the fan and does not stack with Fell Swoop.
- Miss, Crit, and Shield Block are rolled for each target separately.
- One weapon charge increases the attack on all targets at once.
- The first additional target and the primary target take full damage.
- In the peace zone, area strike is disabled.
- The monster has additional targets - level ÷ 7,5, the raid boss has twelve, that is 13 per hit.
- Spear resistance is not included in the damage calculation.
