The Zaken raid is one of the most non-trivial and technically complex in the C4–Interlude chronicles. It requires not just a good party, but a well-coordinated raid group, understanding the mechanics of game time, teleportation, damage and control over the boss. How to Kill Zaken: Party Composition

 

For a comfortable passage it is optimal:

• 1 party of tanks (3+ tanks, preferably with agro and mass-agro).

• 2-3 parties of mages with BD/SVS and MP-recharges (EE/SE).

• 1 party mile to control mobs (minions) in rooms.

Important!
Zaken often teleports attacking players (especially melee) to random rooms full of mobs. Nukers suffer less from this, so draw your own conclusions.

• Login window: from 00:00 to 00:12 game time.

• The key mistake of newbies is to enter the raid in a party-organized manner. Before the door, you MUST break up the party. Otherwise, part of the group will get into the instance, and the other half will fly back to Giran.

• Once inside, don't go deeper, Zaken is aggressive and can aggro right from the spawn. Just wait for everyone to enter.

 

How to Kill Zaken: Search Floors and Rooms

 

The fight with Zaken itself is only part of the task. The most difficult and time-consuming part is finding where exactly he teleported or finding him to start farming. After receiving damage, Zaken can hide in one of the rooms on any of the three floors of the ship. And in order not to waste precious minutes and not let him restore HP, the team must be ready to quickly search. Here are two main ways to find Zaken:

 

Method 1: Light the barrels

 

In the corridors between the rooms there are barrels with fuses. If you approach such a barrel and activate it, it will light up with fire.

• If the flames are blue, Zaken is nearby, possibly in one of the neighboring rooms.

• If the flame is normal, there is none in this zone, you can move on.

To summon Zaken into the room, you need to light all four barrels around it so that all the fuses glow blue. Only then will he reveal himself.

 

Method 2: AOE room scanning

 

Players with area of ​​effect (AOE) abilities, such as mages or supports, can use the following technique:

• We enter the room and stand in the center.

• We cast an AOE skill that deals damage in an area.

• If the skill requires a target, you can cast it via Ctrl on your ally (so that the skill will work).

• If Zaken is in the room, a message will appear in the chat window about the damage dealt to him - even if it is not visually visible.

This is one of the fastest ways to ping Zaken without completely lighting all the barrels on fire.

 

Search organization

 

The ship has three floors, and Zaken can teleport to any of them. Therefore:

• Before the raid, distribute people among the floors.

• Assign responsibility for AOE and barrels.

• Communication and clear actions are the key to success. While one group searches, others prepare for the next phase of the battle.

 

 

If Zaken aggroes ahead of time

 

If Zaken is accidentally aggroed from respawn:

• One of the tanks takes him as far away as possible, dies, and the rest do not move.
• Next, we resurrect the tank and wait until 6:00 game time (≈ 1 hour of real time). Until this moment, Zaken cannot be killed.

 

How to Kill Zaken: Helpful Tips

 

• When the boss's HP drops below 5-10%:

1. Stopping the damage.
2. Only the group that has SA crystals can finish off.
3. This will allow you to get level 10-12 crystals with a 100% chance (depending on server settings).
4. In total, up to 9 crystals can drop for the group with the last damage, that is, for each member of the group.

 

• The waiting time in the "dressing room" is not a bug, but a mechanic: until 6:00 am (game time) Zaken is unkillable, even though he looks aggro.

• Mages are a priority - Zaken hardly teleports them.

• Melee players are the ones who suffer the most, especially without serious support and heal.

• In some chronicles (for example, C4) it made sense to take 77+ SD (BD) to save the teleported, but now this is not always relevant - raid karma can come even from a mob on a ship, since they are all Zaken's minions.
