Sharpening skills in Lineage 2: what do you need for sharpening?
When your character reaches level 76, gets the 3rd profession and gets the book
Secret Book of Giants (Giant Codex), he gets the opportunity to improve his skills. However, not all skills can be improved. Skills can be developed in two different ways, and the player chooses which direction to move in. In addition, it is possible to improve several skills at the same time.
There are the following options for improving skills:
- Opportunity – + to the chance of passing the skill (usually debuffs)
- Cost - Reduces MP consumption for skill
- Power - increases skill power
- Recovery - reduces the skill cooldown before subsequent use
- Summon – increases P.Atk (only for summons)
- Time - increases the duration of action (usually self buffs)

Sharpening skills in Lineage 2: where and with whom to sharpen?
To find out what skills can be improved and in what direction to develop them, contact the NPC responsible for obtaining the 3rd profession for your class. Each class has its own unique NPC for this purpose.
If you are Human:
- Warrior ➡ Town of Aden ➡ Warrior Guild ➡ Master Degrees Aiken or Hunters Village ➡ Warrior Guild ➡ Master Aren Athebaldt
- Mage ➡ Ivory tower ➡ Magister Marina or Hardin's Academy ➡ Lich King Icarus
- Buffer ➡ Town of Oren ➡ Prist Vadin
If you are an Elf (Light Elf):
- Martial Artist ➡ Town of Aden ➡ Master Sinden or Hunters Village ➡ Master Stedmiel

If you are a Dark Elf:

Sharpening skills in Lineage 2: the sharpening process
After you receive the book, approach the appropriate NPC and select the "Enhance Skills" option in the dialogue. Then select the skill you want to enhance and carefully consider which enhancement to refine. Keep in mind that the book will be taken away. Once you choose a skill enhancement path, you can't change it unless the skill breaks and you refine it again. When sharpening a skill, you will lose SP and XP. You must have enough XP to sharpen the skill first. You cannot strengthen skills if the loss of experience will lead to devel.
- With each upgrade, the chance of the next upgrade decreases.
- The chance of improving the skill depends on the character's level (the higher your level, the higher the chance of sharpening).
- The same skill can be improved only by one of the parameters.
- For 1 skill you need one book (if it breaks you need a new book)
- Maximum skill level +30
