Countless corpses of the former crew roam the holds and decks of the cursed vessel Zaken, anchored at Devil's Island. Another Zaken's Pikeman, pike at the ready and eye sockets empty, patrols his master's domain, sleepless and weary. Should a living soul appear on deck, the undead immediately rush to attack, obeying the will of the demon captain, who has forever chained them to this spot.
Holy power remains the only true salvation for such a creature—sanctified spells dispel the darkness that holds it in near-death. As it falls, the spearman leaves behind among the rotten Varnish and chunks of Coal that once served the ship's needs, along with the Greater Herb of Life, which survived in the forgotten chests of the doomed crew.
