What stone would be suitable? The weapon's grade is not limited by the stone: any augmented weapon can be equipped with a stone of any level and quality. The level in the stone's name refers to the requirement for character, and not to weapons: Life Stone: level 76 Only characters level 76 and above can install it. Each gem has its own set of possible bonuses, so the results vary from gem to gem.

The blacksmith takes for the attempt 20 Gemstone C and the stone itself. Aden isn't paid for the augmentation—it's only needed to take off bonus, and it will cost 21,698 adena.

You can only augment once. While the bonus is active, the weapon will not be accepted into the machine a second time.
