Vale Master
In the deep shadows of the Forest of the Dead and along the slopes where the earth still bears the memory of Hellbound's fall, wander those called Vale Masters. These demonic overseers of the valleys once served the dark lords, but now they have become masters of the cursed lowlands, brooking no foreign presence. Should a traveler cross the invisible line of their domain, they leap into battle without warning, for their empty eyes betray neither pity nor doubt.
Their bodies, withered by corruption, still harbor a strange vitality, and a fallen Vale Master often leaves a healing Greater Herb of Life among the ashes, a mockery of their own nature. Alchemists and gatherers are drawn to these places for the Stem and coarse Iron Ore trapped in the demons' claws after their silent battles with the earth itself, but the price for this loot is always the risk of meeting the gaze of the Vale Master.
