Toad Lord
Amid the damp meadows and pools of the Wailing Valley and similar places, the toad lord perches—a creature bloated to unnatural proportions, ruling over its smaller brethren in its swampy realm. Covered in warty, slimy skin, it appears lazy and clumsy, preferring to slumber in the mud, undisturbing passersby. However, this deceptive sluggishness conceals remarkable strength, and if disturbed, the toad lord is capable of crushing the unwary with a single leap of its massive bulk.
In his lair, amid the mud and bones of former victims, seekers find healing herbs, a potent antidote, and lumps of charcoal, which the toad, for some reason, collects in his nest. Those seeking prosperity in the eponymous trial lead to the toad lord, and dragon egg hunters seeking the Little Wing also visit him—for the secrets of the swamps hold more than meets the eye.
