Stone Golem
Stone golems are silent creations of ancient magic, sculpted from solid rock and animated by the will of long-dead sorcerers who once placed them to guard their domains. Devoid of their own desires, they stand motionless as statues and will not touch a traveler until they approach; however, when awakened, they unleash the full weight of their stone fists upon their foes. Magic and blades glide across their bodies, and only the crushing blows of blunt weapons can shatter their monolithic flesh.
A shattered golem spills fragments and grains of coal, and sometimes even healing and magical herbs that have grown in the cracks of its ancient body. Sorcerers who study the forgotten art of golem creation send seekers to retrieve these fragments, for within each fragment, a spark of the spell that animated the idol still smolders.
