How Soulshot Damage Works in Lineage 2 - In Simple Terms

Friends, today we will analyze what actually happens when you press Soulshot. Not “+double damage”, but the real mechanics - with numbers, nuances and tricks that 90% of players don’t even know about.

Basic physical damage scheme in L2:

• We take the attacker's P.Atk.
• Subtract the target's P.Def (plus shield bonuses if it worked).
• We take into account the type of attack - auto-attack, physical. skill or blow (Backstab, etc.).
• We use crits, positional bonuses (from behind ×1.2, from the side ×1.1).
• We apply PvP/PvE coefficients.
• Only after all this the final damage goes to the target's HP.

Soulshot in Lineage 2: What is their role?

And Soulshot increases damage differently depending on the type of hit.

• Auto attack ➡️ ×2 damage (classic mechanics).
• Physical skill (not blow) ➡️ ×2 damage (yes, it doubles here too, which is not always retail).
• Blow (not Backstab) ➡️×2.04, but only on the base part of the damage before the skill power increase.
• Blow (Backstab) ➡️×1.5, but for all damage (both base and power).

It is important to understand that Soulshot (SS) is a damage multiplier that is applied at the very end.

Example on a regular NOT Blow skill:

• Base Damage (P.Atk, Multipliers) = 500
• Skill Power = 300
• Damage to SS: 500 + 300 = 800
• We apply SS ×2 = 1600

It's simple, all damage has doubled, including skill power.

Example on a regular Blow skill (not Backstab)

• Base Damage (P.Atk, Multipliers) = 500
• SS multiplier x2.04: 500 x 2.04 = 1020
• Add skill Power = 1020 + 300 = 1320

It is clear that the skill power did not fall under the SS bonus - only the base.

Example on Blow skill, Backstab

• Damage base = 500
• Add skill Power = 500 + 300 = 800
• SS multiplier x1.5: 800 x 1.5 = 1200

Here the bonus is less than 2.04, but it applies to the entire amount, including skill power.

Why is this really important to us?

Not all blow skills get the same “bonus” from SS. Regular blows have the multiplier applied too early — the skill power is not affected by the SS bonus. Backstab, on the contrary, gets the bonus after all damage has been summed up.

Soulshot in Lineage 2 is not just a “+damage” button, but a whole system of hidden multipliers that affect auto attacks, physical skills and blow skills in different ways. Understanding the mechanics of ×2, ×2.04 or ×1.5, you will be able to competently build tactics and get maximum efficiency from each blow.
