Lineage 2 is a legendary MMORPG that left its mark on online gaming history with its impressive graphics, atmospheric soundtrack, and massive battles. From its launch to the Interlude Chronicles, the game has come a long way, receiving five major Chronicle updates, each introducing new mechanics and expanding the game world.
However, over time, the gameplay encountered certain difficulties - the balance of tasks, hunting and character progression required improvement. The developers from NCSoft decided to rethink the concept of updates, launching a new cycle called The Chaotic Throne, which was supposed to be a qualitative leap forward.
The key transitional stage was the Chronicles of Lineage 2 Interlude, served as a bridge between the old world of Chronicles and the new era of the Throne of Chaos. This update brought important changes to the game:
- New items and equipment
- Fresh hunting zones
- Fortress battles unfolding in real time
- Augmentation system
Thanks to these innovations, Lineage 2 continued its development, offering players even more opportunities for large-scale battles, strategic conquests and exploring the mysterious world of Aden.
Lineage 2 Interlude Chronicles: New Items and Equipment
A new best A-grade weapon has been added, which has become an important stage in the development of character equipment. This weapon can be created using recipes and pieces obtained in the new Dino Island location through two quests: Rise and Fall of the Elroks и A Powerful Primeval Creature. Unique weapons for each class have been added to the game, including daggers, spears, two-handed maces, and other melee weapons. However, since these are the best A-grade weapons, their creation requires rare resources that are difficult to obtain. Because of this, only a few players have managed to successfully craft and obtain these weapons, making them a truly valuable and rare trophy.

Lineage 2 Chronicles Interlude: Shadow Weapons – Temporary Weapons for Leveling Up
A new concept has appeared in the game – Shadow Weapons. It is designed to facilitate the leveling of characters at low levels and is available for purchase and exchange.
Features of shadow weapons:
- It cannot be sold, transferred or sharpened.
- It has a limited duration, after which it disappears.
- Upon receiving the 1st or 2nd profession, the character receives Exchange Coupons, which can be exchanged with NPCs for D- and C-grade shadow weapons.
- Additionally, Shadow Weapons can be purchased for Adena, and the purchased weapons have a duration that is 2 times longer, and B-grade weapons are also available.

Chronicles of Lineage 2 Interlude gives us this system, which in turn gives beginners and rapidly developing characters the opportunity to effectively level up without spending a lot on equipment.
In addition, these chronicles were added
Blood Sword Akamanah following the one and only
Demonic Sword Zariche.
Blood Sword Akamanah, When obtained as a dual wield, it can be equipped with powerful abilities similar to Zariche's.
According to ancient legends, anyone who dares to touch these cursed blades is doomed to eternal damnation. Their minds will be clouded by an uncontrollable thirst for blood, and their soul will be filled with darkness, forcing them to mercilessly destroy everything in their path. It is said that whoever takes possession of these blades is capable of wiping an entire city off the face of the earth, if only to satisfy the hunger of the swords.
There are only two ways to get rid of a curse:
- To die in battle, losing swords along with life.
- Fill the blades with blood by fulfilling their terrible will, or disappoint them by not living up to their expectations.
Lineage 2 Interlude Chronicles: Augmentation System
Weapon enhancement has reached a new level. Previously, the enchantment system simply increased attack power, but now, with the introduction of the "Refining System," players have the opportunity to make their weapons more unique and effective. Furthermore, weapons with a Life Stone implanted in them cannot be dropped, even by PKing.
This procedure requires a special resource – Life Stone, which can be obtained by hunting certain monsters or participating in raids. These stones come in four quality levels:
Life Stone
Mid-Grade Life Stone
High-Grade Life Stone
Top-Grade Life Stone
The higher the Life Stone level, the more powerful its effect. In addition, when using any stone except the usual one, the weapon can get a special blue glow, emphasizing its strength and rarity. Now each player can not only strengthen the attack, but also add unique properties to their weapon, making it truly legendary.
The process of weapon augmentation is quite simple and accessible to every player. To do this, you just need to contact the Blacksmith, who can be found in any city.
What will it take to improve?
The Life Stone is a special magical stone that determines the type of improvement.
The weapon you want to enchant.A Gemstone that matches the weapon's class.
Once you have collected all the necessary resources, you can significantly enhance your weapon by adding new effects and shine. This process allows each warrior to create truly powerful and unique equipment that will highlight his fighting style and bring an advantage in battles.
Lineage 2 Interlude Chronicles unlocks the ability to increase basic abilities such as attack power, critical strike chance, defense, and health, or have activation effects that inflict negative effects on the enemy such as poisoning, bleeding, or paralysis when attacking.
Life Stones, which are needed to upgrade weapons, can only be obtained from certain monsters, making them rare and hard to obtain early on. Because of this, their value on the market varies and can be quite high.
However, over time, as players learn locations and drop rates, loot becomes more predictable and prices gradually stabilize. This opens up more trading opportunities and allows for strategic gear upgrades.
The introduction of the new upgrade system has further fueled players' interest in rare and powerful weapons.
Even in the existing enchantment system, using scrolls of enhancement allowed you to increase attack power or add additional properties. In addition, if a weapon reached +4 or higher, it began to glow, becoming a source of pride and admiration among other players. It was this opportunity to stand out that made many go to great lengths to obtain enchanted weapons.
Lineage 2 Interlude Chronicles: New Location Primeval Isle
The primeval island, a new hunting ground, is home to dense jungles and vast plains, where ancient dinosaurs live. These powerful creatures are level 75 and above, so only experienced and high-level players will be able to fight them. Here, hunters will face dangerous battles and valuable trophies worthy of the strongest warriors of Aden.

The Primeval Isle is located between Rune Castle and the Dark Elf Village. It can be reached from Rune Port by boat. Some players prefer alternative routes, sailing from Rune Harbor or the Dark Elf Village themselves.

On the Primeval Island, the Chronicles of Lineage 2 Interlude show themselves in all their glory. Many ancient creatures resembling dinosaurs live here. These predators do not roam alone - they hunt in groups of 3-4 individuals, which makes battles with them even more dangerous.
In addition to high strength, dinosaurs have powerful abilities such as slowing down the movement of opponents, blocking physical skills, preventing warriors from using their skills in combat. To survive this deadly hunt, good preparation and strategy will be required.
On Tyrannosaurus monsters you can upgrade Soul Crystal from level 10 to 12, everything about upgrading Soul Crystal is described in this article.
Chronicles of Lineage 2 Interlude: battles for fortresses and shelters
In addition to new items and hunting grounds, the game also adds new skills and the ability to participate in battles for fortresses, expanding the combat content and strategic options for players.

Castle sieges have always been a key part of the gameplay in Lineage 2, but due to the limited number of castles, only a few players were able to participate in the captures and reap the benefits.
To expand the possibilities of mass battles, the Interlude update added fortresses, which can now also be fought over. This innovation allowed more players to experience the spirit of sieges and strategic battles, making the game even more dynamic and exciting.

Lineage 2 Interlude Chronicles: Siege Weapons
One of the important innovations in sieges and battles for fortresses was the emergence of Swoop Cannon - a powerful siege weapon capable of turning the tide of battle.
It can be summoned by the dwarf Warsmith starting at level 68. However, the activation cost of this weapon is quite high, which makes its use a strategic decision. Despite the cost, its destructive power in battle will certainly live up to expectations and have a significant impact on the course of the siege.
This powerful siege weapon can only be summoned during a castle or stronghold battle. It fires projectiles that fly in an arc, allowing you to attack even behind fortification walls, hitting enemies in the area of effect.
However, one should be careful - the Swoop Cannon does not distinguish between allies and enemies, causing damage to everyone who is in the blast radius, including players and NPCs. Using this gun requires tactical calculation to avoid unnecessary losses among your own people.
Chronicles of Lineage 2 Interlude became a key milestone in the history of Lineage 2. They not only introduced new mechanics, hunting zones and siege battles, but also significantly expanded the capabilities of players, making the game even more dynamic and exciting.

Good article, good old interlude as for me the most successful chronicles, quite useful for reading for new players, and old-timers who do not delve into the essence of the game
