Where ancient magic has permeated the very stone of the dungeons, ordinary stone guardians are transformed into Enchanted Spine Golems—their spiky bodies shrouded in a shimmering enchantment, granting them strength and a sinister resilience. Like their unawakened brethren, the Enchanted Spine Golem is immobile and indifferent to passersby until someone breaches the boundary drawn around it.
Sorcery does not abolish the ancient law of stone: piercing steel slides across it in vain, and only crushing blows can shatter the enchanted frame. From the ruins of such a guardian, a Greater Herb of Life is recovered, along with Animal Skin and Animal Bone—the hides and bones of those unfortunate enough to stray too close.
