Dark Corpse

In the gloomy lowlands and abandoned temples, where sunlight never reaches, the Dark Corpse rise from the earth—the dead, animated by a dark will. Once human, their half-rotted flesh is now driven only by hatred for the living, and an encounter with them promises nothing but a furious fight: these creatures lash out at anyone who sets foot in their cursed domain.

Varnish—a resinous substance that once served the dead in life and is now used by artisans to enchant items—is sometimes found in the decaying garments of a fallen corpse. Greater Herb of Life sometimes sprouts near the rotting remains, as if nature itself is striving to reclaim these dark lands from death.
