Ant Recruit
Deeper in the Ant Nest's depths, amidst echoing passages and warm darkness, scurry the Ant Recruits—young worker bees who have only recently taken their place in the nest's hierarchy. They toil tirelessly, expanding galleries and nurturing clutches, and rarely seek battle, turning their mandibles on an intruder only when alarm ripples through the hive. Their not-yet-hardened shell makes them particularly vulnerable to fire, and an experienced wanderer takes advantage of this without hesitation.
The workers' bodies store healing juices that become the Greater Herb of Life and the Greater Herb of Mana, and from their glands is extracted the potent Greater Antidote. The path to these ants leads through sacred covenants—the Testimony of Trust and the Testimony of Life—and more than one acolyte, descending into the buzzing Anthill, has understood here that trust and life itself are forged through trials, not given freely.
