Ant Patrol
Along the borders of the queen's domain, the Ant Patrol—sentry guards of the Ant Nest—paces. Their job is to patrol the nest's boundaries and raise the alarm at the sight of intruders. Disciplined and wary, they don't attack every enemy they encounter, but should the invisible line of their route be disturbed, the entire patrol erupts into a single, stinging formation. Like other inhabitants of the Ant Nest, they are vulnerable to flame, and fire magic easily dispels their carefully orchestrated formation.
Greater Herb of Life and Greater Herb of Mana are harvested from fallen sentries, and sometimes a Bone Arrow, useful for archers on long journeys, is found among the spoils. These guardians are inextricably woven into the sacred traditions of the Testimony of Trust and the Testimony of Life, and those who pass through their patrol to complete the covenants long remember the rhythmic clatter of their chitinous paws in the echoing darkness of the nest.
