Androscorpio

In the sandy lowlands and rocky spurs of Ant Nest, on the border of Orc lands, predatory Androscorpios glide between scorching boulders. Their lava-colored carapace and curved sting have taught travelers to keep their distance, but they themselves are more cautious than vicious: they only disturb strangers when they stray too close to their burrows. Long centuries of living under the scorching sun have made them resilient to many afflictions, but flame remains their long-standing weakness, and a skilled mage can easily turn this trait against them.

The bodies of these creatures, imbued with the vitality of desert herbs, often yield Greater Herb of Life and precious Greater Herb of Mana to harvesters upon death, and their clutches sometimes contain tough stem—a material prized by artisans. Local hunters say that where Androscorpio swarms, the earth itself holds its own secrets, and only the patient will find among the sand and chitin what was worth the risk.
